“India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most artistic materials in the history of mankind are treasured up in India only!”

Those were the words spoken by a renowned English poet who was mesmerized by diversified culture , heritage and glorious history of India. The largest democracy in the world has free spirit, futuristic ideas, and teeming prosperity. The land that is a birth place for budding scientists, doctors, engineers and artists as well. The land that was looted by the goons umpteen no. of times but still is touted to be the fastest growing economies in the world. The land that give birth to great revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rajyaguru, Sukhdev, Veer Savarkar , and gave birth to scientists like Vikram Sarabhai, Homi Bhabha and APJ Abdul Kalam.

Jahaan dal dal par sone ki chidiya karti hai basera, woh Bharat desh hai mera.

The land which was once known as golden bird but after the colonial era was struggling to survive due to partition and the loot being carried out at several places.

Still I would proudly say that if there’s one place on the face of Earth where all the dreams of living men have found home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India. The land that has witnessed remarkable progress by achieving liberalization, globalization and Industrialization. Indians have adopted western culture a bit but still have not forgotten their roots. India is the perfect example of unity in diversity as it has eight religions, more than thirty languages, hundreds of dialects, number of festivals celebrated and many more. We here follow the ideology of “Vasudev kutumbakam” which means the entire world is family. The largest epic in the world-Mahabharata was written in India. Indus Valley civilization is touted to be the one of the oldest civilizations in the world.

I can proudly say that India is most secular, tolerant country in the world because, over here you have the right to follow any religion you want, you have right to express your thoughts even if it includes abusing the head of the government, you have right to raise your voice against anything that you feel is absurd and many more such privileges are provided by the Indian Judiciary.

Indian constitution is the largest constitution in the world having 448 articles, 25 parts , 12 schedules and 103 amendments.

Today we can proudly say that Indian cinema produces maximum number films every year. The massive fan following that Indian celebrities possess is incredible. India’s first interplanetary mission made it the first Asian nation to reach martian orbit and the first nation to do so in the maiden attempt. After this historic success the Indians all around the world can proudly say “Saare Jahaan se Accha, Hindustan hamara”. Indian army is the fourth largest army in the world. Our soldiers have proved their mettle in all the wars since prehistoric time. The Indian subcontinent has witnessed cohesive concentration of many empires, in the quest to control the militant power, and governance of the state. As time rolled by, societal norms found an ethos in the workplace, the system of rights and privileges and the service under the flag.

“If death strikes before I prove my blood, I swear I will kill death” these were the words of PVC Captain Vikram Batra- the soldier who sacrificed his life for the nation during the Kargil War. He was the man who was nicknamed as “Sher Shah” by his enemies, as his personality reminded them of a lion. He before entering the battlefield said that he will either come back after hoisting the tricolor, or will come back wrapped in it, but will be back for sure. His valour, strength and determination was commendable. Indian navy is also a crucial part of the armed forces that has played a vital role in protecting the coastal frontiers of the nation. It is touted to be one of the best naval forces in the entire world. Last but not the least the contribution that Indian airforce has made in protecting the honor of the nation is also worth appreciating. The Indian cricket team is by far the best cricket team in the world that have won two World Cup and many international accolades. Sachin Tendulkar is considered as the God of Cricket and the game is considered as the religion in the nation. India has added many such feathers to its cap. The nations has grown through leaps and bounds and has become one of the fastest growing economies in the world. There will come a day when India will be termed as one of the superpowers of the world. So, it is my humble request to all the Indian citizens who consider of going abroad for further studies or for employment purposes, do consider living in India, and contribute in making India a better place to live .
